Overseas Exchange Program
Looking for the London Summer Seminar?
UNC Charlotte offers a unique experience for its M.A. students to study international public relations, organizational communication, health communication and mass media in Europe. Through a consortium arrangement, Masters students study their first two semesters at UNC Charlotte, and then spend their third semester studying at our partner university: Zeppelin University in Germany.
Courses taken during the students’ first two semesters provide the foundation for the more specialized subjects studied in the semester abroad, while preparing the way for the thesis or directed project. The international study route offers a specialized, yet complementary, set of courses that reflect a unique foreign academic expertise. All courses are taught in English. The structure of the international option for full-time students and the courses offered at each partner university are listed below.
Semester One and Two: Students study at their home university
University of North Carolina at Charlotte
Professional Seminar in Communication (Fall)
Contemporary Viewpoints in Communication Theory (Fall)
Communication Research Methods (Spring)Overseas Exchange Program

Upon Completion of the study abroad semester, students return to their home university to finish their programs of study under the direction of the major adviser. Students are encouraged to select a topic or project for their thesis or master’s project that reflects their international experience, and advisers at each partner university may serve as official committee members offering assistance to students pursuing their projects.
Program Costs
Students will pay University of North Carolina at Charlotte tuition for their study abroad, and will be responsible for their own transportation to their selected country as well as accommodations and living expenses for that semester. Partner universities provide full assistance in arranging for accommodations. Further information on these estimated costs can be requested from the program coordinator listed below.
